Portrait of Wednesday

1964

Set in the early sixties the film follows the varied lives of the people of Bury during a typical working day. Among them the engineer at Walmsley’s, the student nurse at Bury General, the pensioner reminiscing about years gone by. Why Wednesday? Market Day, the Council meeting and the mid-week ‘Bury Times’!
