Lancashire’s Heroes

1993

The Lancashire Fusiliers have held a proud and honourable place in the memory of local people. Originating in Devon, they came north in 1881 and established their headquarters in Bury. The town still holds an annual Gallipoli parade to commemorate the ‘Lancashire Landing’ in 1915, when the regiment won six VCs ‘before breakfast’. This film traces their history.
