Bury in the Seventies

Bury is famous for its Market, and in 1972 the old County Borough Council commissioned the Cine Society to make a film telling of its history. The story covers over 400 years, and includes a unique record of the last day on the old open market with many once familiar faces. The video also includes extracts from the society’s popular newsreels, showing the changing face of Bury in the seventies.
